Interesting issue

Discussion in 'MCSE' started by Sanjay Pandit, Nov 10, 2003.

  1. I have an interesting issue for your input - I manage a
child domain in a large corporate AD. I recently found
that four workstations had registered _ldap SRV records
and the zone root in windows 2000 DDNS.

I've had all workstations checked - no viruses or unknown
processes running. And - they get their IPs via dhcp,
same as the other 2000+ clients that do not have this
    problem.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause these clients
to incorrectly register in DNS. Obviously this is
causing issues with login scripts, group policy, and more.

    Please reply to .

    Thanks in advance,
