Whenever I put my motherboard DVD in the DVD drive, nothing happens. I used
to have XP Pro x64 and it worked with that os.

As a matter of fact, most of my programs won't install, such as AdAware,
video programs such as BeSweet, computer programs such as Advanced Windows
Care, etc. I receive messages that a file is missing from each of the
programs that won't install. Another message that I receive says "This
problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows
and this version of Microsoft Deprecated DLL Components."

And, btw, where's Add/Remove Programs that used to be in Control Panel?
