Has anyone heard of getting an OEM computer/notebook, HP in
particular, having an option to go from 32-bit to 64-bit without
having to reinstall the whole OS. Supposably someone got an HP 9000t
and when they first (or 2nd) turned it on they found a setup page of
some sorts that allowed this option.

OEMs will usually install one or the other, but not both versions. It might
be possible that the pc had been set up by the OEM as a dual-boot machine,
but that certainly would be unusual unless it had been at the customers'
request. That would require 2 separate licences.

Jane, not plain ;) 64 bit enabled :)
Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation ;-)

  3. It's possible to have a machine that would do that, but once the choice is
made, it's irrevocable. Switching would now be a new installation entirely.
