It seems that Outlook or OE are automatically set to default if they are
    installed.
I use Bloomba (Yahoo, nee Stata Labs) for mail and want it to be the default
to that when I click a mail link in Opera, IE or other applications, it
opens up Bloomba with a new message window.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
I tried Control Panel -> Mail, but this does not take me anywhere useful as
    far as I can see.
    Thanks!

Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs tab ....

OE Tools - Options - General tab, look at the bottom portion 'Default
    Messaging Programs' ...

Outlook Tools - Options - Other tab - General settings ...
