how to represent fractional binary in VHDL

    Hi

    am really new to VHDL and am working on a project where I have to implement a DCT function on an FPGA I actually did every thing but am stock on how to represent a 12-point constat which is in the from 1.00010101000
    or 0.10110101000. I wish someone can help me
