How in the hell did Patterson get picked off by the catcher?

  1. Wow, this team has made some really God-awful baserunning blunders this
year, but that was probably the dumbest. Cubs had runners on 1st and 2nd
with nobody out, and Sosa at the plate with a 2-1 count! Patterson was on
first, with Todd Walker in front of him...so how in the hell does he manage
to get picked off? He had absolutely nowhere to go.

This is typical of how the Cubs have played in this series. They'll get a
leadoff hit/walk, and maybe even get a few guys in scoring position, and
then just make some horrible mistakes. This offense just looks clueless,
and they're making some very mediocre Diamondback pitchers look like
    world-beaters.
