How do you calibrate a Nikon 8000 scanner?

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by nobody nowhere, Nov 22, 2003.

  1. I look at a slide on a good quality light box, with a good quality
magnifying glass, and then tweak "settings" until the processed image
looks to me as near as possible to the image on the monitor. Let's
assume that the monitor is calibrated reasonably well. Would I do
better if I were to use one of the calibrating devices and software for
calibrating the scanner (Gretag Macbeth, etc)? Thanks in advance for
your comments, in particular if you have the Nikon 8000.
