I've got a friend who doesn't have internet and just restored his
system (system restore disks). I'd like to download all critical
updates for XP and burn them to a disk.

    Is this possible?

    thank you

Yes. Google: WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe Then visit Windows update >
History. Grab the rest and burn, baby, burn.

    http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

This is the "catalog" version of Windows update and it will let you select
the OS, and let you download files.

You could go the the windows update site and order a CD (free) with
everything up to SP2 on it.. makes the subsequent downloads a lot shorter.
