Hotmail "Empty Junk Mail" popup

Discussion in 'Firefox' started by Captain Infinity, Nov 30, 2005.

  1. Once upon a time I went insane and signed up for a Hotmail.com email account.
All it does is collect spam, of course, because I never use it for anything. So
every day I mark stuff as junk mail and about once a week I go into the junk
mail folder to empty it out.

When I do this at work, a small popup box comes up asking me if I want to inform
Hotmail about all the items I've marked as junk. Although it seems to
accomplish nothing, I click the check box "yes" and then click the "Empty"
    button.

Now, when I go through this procedure at home, instead of a small popup box
Firefox opens up a whole new tab. I much prefer the popup box. Does anyone
know what setting I have tweaked at work that allows a small box, or what
setting I have at home that's telling it to open a new tab?

Firefox 1.0.7 running at both sites. TIA!

Do you have any tab related extensions? The pref may be in an
    extension's options dialog.

    Tools>>Options>>Advanced>>Tabbed Browsing

Uncheck Force links that open new windows......
