    Hi,

I'm looking for an external (USB 2.0) harddrive with high capacity. I was
wondering if it is possible to get high capacity drives (100GB+) that are
powered by the USB port and take their power from the PC instead of using a
power adapter? If so, what manufacturer makes them?

I have seen 40GB Bus powered external HDD's, but was wondering if it's
    possible to get any bigger?

    Thanks,

    Cassandra

whatever maximum size notebook harddrive happens to be available, I would
assume, since that is what they use. But the drive must not draw any more
than 500mA of current, since that is the limit of the USB ports, and in the
case of some laptops, they cannot even supply that much.
