S3 Graphics has, after being quiet for a while, announced a new series of graphics cards for the mobile and desktop mainstream. For them, Chrome20 is about power consumption, performance per watt, media connectivity and out of the box experience. We bring you details of what to expect from Chrome20 and thoughts from our recent hands on with a desktop Chrome20 card.
Quote: They're going after the mainstream market; after the users who want to buy a graphics card, install it, and be able to go forth and play all their games at their monitor's native resolution at default graphics settings. S3G haven't been quiet without reason, they've been working on putting together a product which might help them score some of that mainstream market share.

it seems like S3 is pushing for more feature than functions.

feature packed. Looks decent, but i dunno if they are ready for something gruntier than the 7800GTXs Unholy :p Maybe later, when S3 is a little bigger.

Try as they might, S3 better come up with something that just plain "wows" everyone or they will be in big strife if their next line of cards fail.

maybe a video card that runs at stock speed of 100mhz and beats a 300mhz ATi/NVidia... sounds special hey! :D increasing the overall stablility of the card and lowering the heat production :D
