Help with Powershot G2 viewing angle problem

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by Cranialstrain, Sep 12, 2003.

  1. Help anyone!?

I've had my G2 for over 14 months but has now seem to have developed a
fault with the view finder's aim being different from that
taken/displayed on the TFT screen. Everytime I take a picture using
the view finder to aim, the actual picture taken and displayed on the
TFT is not in the same place.

Futher tests have revealed that if I take a picture with the camera
held perfecting upright and use the view finder to select a target,
the image on the TFT matches that in the view finder (by 95%); however
if I take a photo of something that requires the camera to be at a
downward tilt, the image displayed in the view finder is about 1cm
    below that of the target.

Is this a fault? Unfortunately it's now out of warranty so would love
to be able to find a solution!

    Regards, CS.
