I recently had to format my hard drive and now I need to get the
WIndows updates going back to last year for WIndows, IE Explorer and
    Outlook Express.

How do I get Win Updates to find and install these updates - when I
tried to get them all that WIn Updates would give me was the most
    recent update.

    Any assistance would be appreciated,

    Mary

    ???
If you visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and scan for updates - it
will tell you what is available for your system. Essentially - if you need
    it - it tells you.

I do recommend (heartily encourage) you to install Windows XP Service Pack 2
before ever getting on the Internet for the first time on a freshly
    installed Windows XP system, however.

Install SP2 http://tinyurl.com/ywejft if you haven't, then just wait
for XP SP3 which will be out shortly.
