I am a cisco newbie and need some help. My modem is an 857 and has a weak username and password allowing telnet access from the LAN. There is currently no access to the modem from the WAN by telnet or ssh

I have set up an additional username (for example huy56r) with a stronger password. I now am trying to allow ssh via the WAN for only that user but am struggling. It does not appear to be possible by ACLs as this is by protocol or IP.

can someone point me in the right direction ?
