    All,

    I have some questions:..

.. When connecting 2 optical or 2 hard drives together on a double connecting
IDE cable which are set-up as master and slave, which should go first on the
cable, and which second? i.e. Mater, Slave or Slave, Master.

.. Are there any conflicts in using drives running at different speeds, i.e.,
    7200 master and 5200 slave?

.. Are there any conflicts with one being formatted as FAT32 and one as NTFS?

    Thanks
    Simon

Depends of how you connect the small conectors on the HD, not the cable.

    No!

The physical position on the cable makes no difference, unless
the drive is jumpered "cable select", and cable select is supported
    by your system.

No, but access from one to the other will be at the slower
speed. You shouldn't notice any significant difference.

The only conflict might be that in DOS (Win98/ME) the FAT32
drive would not be able to see the NTFS drive.
