Has MS stopped supply critical updates and service packs?

I check the MS page for updates every time I am on-line which is just about
on a daily basis. A week would not go by without a critcal update being
posted on theWindows update website. But in recent months these seem to have
dried up. It has been a number of weeks since there has been anything to
download. Plus I have heard that the service pack 2 will be released
    shortly. Is this true.

In short, is there a problem here or are there actually no critical updates
released by MS for some time?

    Thanks in advance.

    No problems, however:

    1) MS is doing a "burst" schedule (Monthly I think) so there may be weeks in
the middle where no updates for your computer are present.

    2) MS will be "blocking" updates for commonly pirated CD keys for Windows.

As a work around, you should check the security lists or just visit the
recent patches and download and install them manually. (Won't help in the
    case of 2 though...)

Well, you'll definitely know when you try to install SP2. ;-)
