Hacking Android

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Jul 5, 2010.

  1. A bunch of hackers have been taking advantage of the availability of the
Android source code to create their own alternative OSes for these
smartphones <http://lwn.net/Articles/392962/>. It appears some phone models
even allow the user to get root access, so you don’t even need to downgrade
to older, buggy firmware just to get control of your own phone.
