Google Calendar and Google Maps

I just set up google calendar at a different computer recently. Now
when I try and access it here on my laptop (main) computer.. the
screen is blank.. but at the top tab of the screen it just has the
refresh-looking graphic to the left and to the right it says
    "Refreshing.."

It continues to refresh several times, making the "click" sound
internet explorer makes when i'm going to a website. Then it just
sits there looking like its trying to refresh.. but there are still no
sounds and nothing is loading on the page. How do I fix this?

Also, when i try to access google maps, the map never loads and it
also never searches for any locations when i type them in. I have to
resort to mapquest.. which i frankly dislike. How do I fix that too?
    Thanks.
