There is a new magazine which is just a gallery for serious photographers to
    display their photos.
Check it out at www.exposuremagazine.org (that's .ORG)

Although the subscription rate is not a LOT more than a proper magazine,
this is vanity publishing - $32 for four issues of a printed mag which,
judging by the photographs on the website, will be of little interest to
the general public or photography buyers. Making the 'right' to
contribute an apparently unmoderated or edited portfolio to a magazine -
without fee - conditional on buying a fairly high priced subscription is
not a new idea, it's been done with vanity writing publications for
    centuries (literally!).

It is also done properly by one or two publishers - notably Roger Maile
with PHOTO ART INTERNATIONAL, Bob Prior with the original HOT SHOE, etc.
Big difference was that it was more like $320 than $32 to get anything
in print, and if they didn't like your quality, you could have offered
them $3200 and still been told there was no space to spare... ever... In
fact the Art Director's Index and Creative Black Book all work on being
totally open to anyone to be published, but again, $32 won't get you
anywhere and there is a real art director rejecting stuff which would
    ruin the publication's credibility.

    Just my 2 pence!
