A friend has had to use a G3 wireless provider, because no ADSL or Cable
    broadband is available.

The ISP provided a USB wireless modem that connects to the computer.
Is there any way to run two computers on a LAN that can both use the USB
    modem ?

The Modem is not seperately powered, and I can't seem to find any references
on how to use a switch or Router.

I use an Ethernet Cable Modem and a 4 port switch, so I am no help with this
    G3 stuff.

Look up internet connection sharing. Not the best solution, but it works.

Then he should avoid getting a USB interface with his ISP :)
