fxo configuration for BT (in UK)

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Graham Turner, May 27, 2004.

  1. have sstablished the simplese voip model it would seem that involves a 7940
ip phone, linux based pbx, 1760 router with fxo interface for routing to the
    pstn (BT in the UK)

am experiencing issues of lower voice quality certainly as compared to an
analog phone connected to the pstn and two windows messenger (ip soft
    clients) connected over the Internet.

from this i infer that it is not the ip network suffering from issues of QOS
but perhaps the FXO voice port configuration which i would assume to be in
some way specific to the pstn provider (in this case BT)

    have taken what i would assume to be a very general config as follows;

    voice-port 2/0
    input gain 10
    output attentuation 10
    no comfort-noise
    cptone GB
    connection plar 1001
    caller-id enable

    assistances will be gladly received

    GT
