Is it possible to program an F key to type a word when pressed?

I'd like to use one to produce my password.

I have Compaq Presario 6000 running XP with a Compaq keyboard (F1 to F12
    buttons, as normal)

NO and it's a bad idea for security reasons.

However, you can set the XP O/S to use an account at boot that will allow
the O/S to use the account and its password to auto logon to the
computer, which is a bad idea too IMHO but the feature is there.
