Full Class Price

Discussion in 'MCSA' started by Joe Obergfell, Sep 10, 2006.

  1. What sounds like a good price for the classes. I have been talking to
one person and they have told me roughly 25.7 k for the whole
    MCP/MCSA/MCSE 7 tests and classes.

Ok, would you like to clue us in as to WHERE you're getting this outrageous
    price?

Is it a Certified Microsoft IT Academy that is offering it? If so, then it
is probably worth it. BUT, you've REALLY gotta be up on your study habits
and KNOW what to expect from such an intense course in so little time.

If it's not a CMITA, then no, it's not a good price.

Before I go off the handle like Eric the Half a Bee there, I would ask what
currency that is in? :) In Canadian Dollars the testing centre where I teach
charges students approximately CDN$2500 per five-day course.

    Good luck!

Hahaha...good point, I didn't even think of the fact that the 25.7 k could
    be in pesos or paise.

  6. This is the MSFT IT Academy. I took the ComputerTraining.com test and
viewed the MSFT IT Academy in my city and this is the figure that they
    gave me.

  7. The price is in USD and it is a CMITA.

Well Joe, you've got to know that the CMITAs will get very rigorous and put
you through some grueling times. I've never been to one my self, but I've
talked to some pretty smart people that have been through them, and they
    couldn't pass the Academy.

From what I gathered from talking to the people, if you don't go it with a
great knowledge of the track already, you're going to have a pretty tough
time. That's not to say that *you* personally will, all I'm suggesting is
that you ask questions before you jump into any huge committment like that.

It cost me the MCSE-Security 2003 around £8K GBP = $16K USD inc VAT.

I cannot help but think that it is a lot of money. As I said in Canada the
courses are $2500 each, and I would be surprised if the US was that much more
expensive. I would shop around to see what other Microsoft Certified
Partners for Learning Solutions are out there, and compare what you get and
    what they cost.

    Good luck!

It's not that the US is that much more expensive, the place he is looking to get
trained is a Microsoft Certified IT Academy. They supposedly stand head and
shoulders above any Microsoft Certified Partner or Microsoft Certified Gold
    Partner.

I understand and respect that... but in the army we had an axiom: Good enough
is ALWAYS good enough, and perfect is usually not worth the hassle. If he
needs it then good, but if not it is a LOT of money!
