ftp and cvs download of mozilla source?

Discussion in 'Firefox' started by Gernot Hassenpflug, Jun 8, 2004.

  1. Hi all,

I've downloaded a tarball (v.1.4.1) and want to use cvs to get the
updates to the newest milestone release. Following the instructions on
the mozilla.org webpages, this is done automagically from the unpacked
    directory using to command:

    cvs -z3 checkout -PA mozilla/client.mk

however, I have been getting an error as follows:

cvs [checkout aborted]: connect to cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:2401 failed:
    Connection timed out

A straight cvs login (anonymous) did not work either.

Unsuccessful pinging tells me cvs-mirror.mozilla.org is not
responding. Is the server offline, or should I be using a different
    server?

Any help appreciated. I would like to build mozilla from source....
