  1. Hi.
    1) When I try to drag and drop anything on my desktop the system locks
    2) If I have a file open from My Computer and left click on the file button
on the toolbar the same thing happens
    3) If I right click on a file or folder the same thing happens
    4) If I right click on the Start button the same thing happens
    5) If I try to drag and drop any file the same thing happens
    6) The pointer drifts accross the screen on its own. Yes the mouse has been
    cleaned.
Am running windows XP home edition with all recent updates. Norton anti
virus and internet security, AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware SE. Have also run
several webb based scans but the problem still persists. Disabled all
protection but still the same Tried system restore to no avail. Now its
    really beginning to annoy me.
Any one got any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try SFC - System File Checker. It will fix any bad OS files on the hard
drive. You need to have your XP install CD available if it finds a problem.
Open a "run" dialog - winkey+r (or Start/Run) and type "SFC /SCANNOW" and
press enter (click okay...you know the drill <g>)
