Firefox won't open Visio files

When I refer to a .vsd (Visio) file in FF (1.0.7) the download box
doesn't offer to open the file, only to "Save to Disk". The "Open
with..." option is greyed out. VSD does not appear in the File Types
box. I've tried the Mime Edit extension and added
application/vnd.visio, specifying the vsd extension and the path to
visio32.exe. Sill no "Open with..." and still no VSD in the File Types
list. I notice the XLS (for example) also does not appear in the list,
but FF does fire up Excel just fine. I see application/msexcel in the
Mimetypes editor, listed with "Open it using the default application".
Tried that with vsd - no go.

I've tried, now it's time to ask for help...

    TIA,
    Gene Wedge
