file record segment is not readable

    It means roughly the same thing as the old 9x Scandisk on a FAT partition
    saying bad cluster. If it is a few unreadable sectors, it could be
    nothing, however you should make an immediate backup of all your important
    work and monitor the drive's health, as it will more than likely completely
    die in the near future.

    since yesterday every time i start my windows xp in check c:/ for
    consistency and every time i show a lot of message like file record
    segment xxx is not readable. What have cause this problem is this sign
    that the hard disk is dying?
