Fear of Failure

Discussion in 'MCSA' started by Montreal MCSA, Aug 27, 2006.

  1. Hi Remy,

As I have posted before, welcome to the club. Certification exams are
scary, and the fear of failing them can often be worse than the actual exam.
You are not alone in your fear, believe me! I have taken many exams in my
career and am scared every time I sit for one (I am scared now, as I have to
    take two this week!)

Remember this: The absolute worst thing that can happen to you is you fail.
If that happens you look at your report, study what you are missing, and
    retake the exam.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I went to TechEd Sydney last week and decided to sit buy two exam vouchers
because they had a promotional thing going where they were selling them at a
third of the normal price. I really thought I'd fail but wanted to see how
hard the exams were. Ended up passing 70-290 first and then 70-270 the next
day. Alot of it is common sense.

Booking the exam and fear of failing was the hardest part for me.

  3. Good on you Josh! I keep telling people that there are two great obstacles
to getting certified - of course the first is knowledge and understanding of
the subject matter, but the second is much simpler: getting off your rear end
    and writing the tests.

You have obviously done that and we are all proud of you. I do envy the
discount though ;) I still have to pay $106.75 per test (I have a standing
15% discount) and though the certs are worth that and more, it is still nice
to get the discount. I look forward to my MCT because of the cut rates (and
    the revenue from teaching!).

Good luck on your cert path; you are now halfway to earning your MCSA on
Windows 2003, and believe me the first exams are the toughest! Keep us
    informed!
