    Hello,

I'm interested in hearing what everyone thinks is the fastest switch. I deal with finance applications that have a constant flow(1 mb/s) of information with occasional data spikes of 100 mb/s.
I have servers all running fiber nics(intel pf's) on a 6500 with fiber blades. We used to be on a 4500 and for some reason it 'felt' faster. So just wonder what everyone thinks when talking about strictly speed and not bandwidth inside cisco and other vendors.

    Thanks.

Most higher end switches are going to switch at wire speed.

Bandwidth should be to the level of the switch gear -- that is, 1Gbps switch will allow 1Gbps throughput, since there are no collision domains in a switched environment.
