    Here is the ebay link.

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7599934667

There are many photos in the listing and a low starting price. This is
a very sharp copy of this lens and I will be sad to see it go, but I
must use the money to buy some normal zoom and wide lenses. I don't
shoot sports much anymore or use this the way I should. It will be very
well loved in someone else's collection I'm sure.

    Thanks,

    Josh

Why would you think that members of a news group like this would want to
buy rubbish when most can take better pictures themselves - please avail
yourself the use of your brain cell or have you lent it out?

Looks like something I might want, but I can't make ebay work. so
    sad.

Is ebay linking not allowed here? Just checking because I'm just trying
to let people know the lens is available. Many forums allow linking to
ebay. If you are interested in the lens but don't wish to use ebay,
    just email me.

This is usenet, so there aren't any 'rules' as such. The group survives
on people being reasonable and polite. So it's pretty rude for you to
come into the group just to try to flog your unwanted gear. Use the
marketplace groups, that's what they're for.

There is a charter for this group which says which is, and what is not
    allowed.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy from a seller who:
    a) Has such shit feedback
    b) Spams newsgroups.

Hey jackass, if you don't want the lens, shut your mouth.

Aww lookie, he needs to hide behind another alias.

Mind you don't get someone with a throwaway eBay account fucking up your
    listings from now on.

Regardless of what's allowed "here", the OP also has to consider eBay's
    Terms of Service (TOS).

Its been awhile since I've read it, but IIRC, it says something to the
effect that its not nice to tick off the world by shilling your
listing, and people who do so and get reported risk having their eBay
listing pulled and eBay account terminated.

    Hey Gizmo,

I know you feel the need to post on every little message that doesn't
concern you, but please refrain from making up soap opera drama tales
about how I had to create another account to badmouth you. You
obviously need to take a break - 5000 posts in 125 groups? How do you
have time for your job and wife, or are you in your parents' basement
jerking off to all the "burns" and "zings" you've been handing out on
    usenet.

In all honesty, if I have no interest in a post, I ignore it. You don't
want the lens? Fine. You think I'm an idiot for posting it here? Fine.
Threatening to commit fraud because you are a sociopath that feeds off
of insulting people on usenet? Get some help.

You need to learn how to search and cross reference ;o)
Don't bother searching by ID or email address on google

    Ah, John...
    Which group?
As you can see, it's posted to several.
And this is one of the problems that some never consider; just because
you only use one group, it's seen as "this" group, or "my" group, but
it's never given which group that actually is.
    Provincialism at its best.

    Again, where's "here"?
For you to say so-and-so is only here, that doesn't say much, unless
you can demonstrate you've searched all the other pertinent groups.
    Have you?
Again, it would help tremendously to say where "here" is.
It really isn't hard to do.

For me, "here", at this moment, is a state of mind where I am clearing
my emotional palette of any baggage (usenet is a good release in that
regard...heh) before immersing myself into the real world of an
    international marathon for several days.

Bill, what is it with lonely control freaks that insist on cluttering
the world of free speech with elitist rules and bs? It seems to me
they need less discussion and more immulsion. ;-)
