The last few months I have been receiving excessive amounts of spam from my
Rochester.rr email account. The past week it has grown to exceed 15-20
emails a day of inappropriate content. What can I do?

  4. Stop posting to usenet with your real email address. That's probably where
the bulk of the spammers are getting your address. Also, NEVER click on an
"unsubscribe" link on a spam mail. That only tells the spammer that your
address is live AND someone actually reads the mail that gets sent there.
Your address will then be sold to other spammers.

  5. Never use your primary email account. Create a secondary one and us it until
the spammers have all shared it and bombarded you. Then delete the account
and create a new one. Your primary account should be configured to only
receive mail from people in your address book. Beware: Spammers can add
    themselves to your address book!

Not without your permission, they can't.
