I keep getting error message 718 when I try to access the internet ie a PPP
is initiated but could not be completed because the remote computer did not
    respond in a timely manner.

With Broadband's help desk I have set up new connections but this has not
really helped. Is it a network congestion, firewall or XP problem. It takes
an age - sometimes days -to get connnected. What can I do to sort out?

Very grateful for any ideas where the problem lies.

    Thanks

    Peter

If I were you I would just call up your ISP. That's what they are there
    for.

I have frequently!!! The problem looks to be sorted now as it was a BT ADSL
    problem.

    Thanks
