Enigmail chooses wrong key

Discussion in 'Firefox' started by Alexander Fischer, Dec 17, 2004.

  1. Hello,

I'm using thunderbird 1.0, GnuPG and Enigmail.

Recently I've been playing around with my keys a bit (changing pass
phrase, deleting and adding keys etc.), and suddenly the Enigmail
pluging doesn't work any more. Whenever I try to encrypt from TB, I get
an error message telling me that the required public key wasn't found.
The reason is simple: from the log output I see that Enigmail is calling
gnupg with a wrong key id. I.e., the public key which I want to use and
which I select from the Enigmail dialog box is like 0x6111..., but
Enigmail sends Gnupg a command calling for key 0x2352.... Which of
    course can't be found.

I suppose that this is one of my old keys which I only used for testing
purposes. But why is Enigmail making this mistake of calling the wrong
key when it obviously DOES know about the new one (shown on dialog)?

    Thanks,
    Alex
