Just a reminder - the date when DST (summer time) ends in the U.S. and
Canada has moved up a week to the first Sunday in November at 2 A.M.
local. The 48 contiguous states except for Arizona and Canada except
for Saskatchewan are affected. (The Navajo reservation which is mostly
    in Arizona is affected.)

Windows XP needs a patch from Microsoft to change the DST dates.
Eastern Indiana needs a 2006 patch to use DST and then the 2007 patch
to change the dates. The 2007 patch includes the 2006 patch.

Of course, if your computer is set up to use a time zone or DST
adjustment which does not correspond to the one outside you might have
your clock automatically turned back when you didn't want it or not
turned back when you did want it.

You could manually change the clock - it's only twice a year - or just
keep all of your computers on, say, GMT (or UTC) without any DST.
(Britain has summer time but GMT does not.)

(GMT is earth rotation time, UTC is atomic clock time with leap
seconds when necessary to stay close to GMT. For the purpose of your
computer clock there is no difference.)
