Encrypt line pwd

  1. How does one store an encypted line passwd.

    Con the console you simply say "ena secret xx"

    but when your in "line vty 0 4" I would expect "secret xxx" to do the
    same. However I can only see "pass xxx" which is then in cleartext when
    you show to config ?

    'service password-encryption' as a global command. Note that this is
    *not* the same as the MD5-hash 'enable secret', but a quite trivial bit
    of obfuscation, and there are numerous programs that decrypt it.
