Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ACE HIGH, ALINA, BAD MOVIE POLICE:
HUMANOIDS FROM ATLANTIS, BIKINI BANDITS SAVE CHRISTMAS, BLOODY NEW YEAR,
DEATH GAME, NAKED IN NEW YORK, RELENTLESS 2: DEAD ON, STIR OF ECHOES:
SPECIAL EDITION, THEY MADE ME A CRIMINAL / LADY GANGSTER, THE WACKIEST
SHIP IN THE ARMY, WHISPERS IN THE DARK, and YESTERDAY:

ACE HIGH (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 76/100):
"Although the film takes some cues from Sergio Leone's epics, Ace High
is a much more lighthearted western, an almost entirely character-driven
piece that focuses on the somewhat comic adventures of Cat and Hutch as
opposed to the grittier, violence-driven plotlines more associated with
    the genre."

ALINA (reviewed by Sandra Dozier, overall score 20/100):
"I can't see any reason for anyone to buy this DVD. I can't even
recommend it for viewing if a stranger were to hand it to you along with
a bag of buttered popcorn and a 64-ounce tub of soda."

BAD MOVIE POLICE: HUMANOIDS FROM ATLANTIS (reviewed by David Johnson,
    overall score 48/100):
"Light the disc on fire and jam it into your eye socket. It will be a
less painful experience than watching it."

BIKINI BANDITS SAVE CHRISTMAS (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 76/100):
"Basically, the movie plays like an on-screen comic book, and is done in
a frame-by-frame narrative style. Or, if you prefer, like an R-rated
    version of Reading Rainbow."

BLOODY NEW YEAR (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 78/100):
"These odd, surreal scenes and images make Bloody New Year stand out
from the parade of generic slashers. On the other hand, the film is
missing several elements that make these '80s bloodbaths fun."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/bloodynewyear.php

DEATH GAME (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 44/100):
"This movie is absolutely insane. From the disturbing opening credits
-- a montage of child drawings with the absolute worst movie theme
song I have ever heard -- to the ludicrously cheesy threesome scene,
to the last third, featuring surreal sequence after surreal sequence,
Death Game plays like a direct feed from the brain of a psychiatric
    ward escapee."

NAKED IN NEW YORK (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 70/100):
"The film was released in 1993, and boy howdy can you tell that. Naked
in New York has 'grunge era angst' writ large over every single scene."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/nakedinnewyork.php

RELENTLESS 2: DEAD ON (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 70/100):
"The film isn't bad. It's just forgettable. Dietz isn't a compelling
hero. In fact, he's kind of annoying; and not in that charming 'buck-the-
    law' kind of lone-wolf annoying. He's irritating-annoying."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/relentless2.php

STIR OF ECHOES: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
    score 74/100):
"...And then take Steve Martin, connect him to John Candy in Little Shop
of Horrors, who was also in Nothing But Trouble with Demi Moore, who
starred in Striptease with good old Burt Reynolds, who was in Cannonball
Run with...and then, umm...dang it, I can't get to Kevin Bacon!"

THEY MADE ME A CRIMINAL / LADY GANGSTER (reviewed by Barrie Maxwell,
    overall score 70/100):
"Roan should really take more care with their back cover blurbs. Their
plot summaries are inaccurate. Nor is highlighting Jackie Gleason on the
front cover at all indicative of his small role in Lady Gangster; it's
disrespectful to the film's actual stars."

THE WACKIEST SHIP IN THE ARMY (reviewed by George Hatch, overall
    score 55/100):
"In 1965, The Wackiest Ship in the Army was made into an hour-long TV
series that lasted 29 episodes. If you watched them all back-to-back,
I'll bet it would still feel shorter than this 99-minute maritime mess."

WHISPERS IN THE DARK (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 78/100):
"The breathtaking twist ending makes Whispers in the Dark worth sitting
through. Even though I knew the ending, having sat through the film in
its initial theatrical release, watching it on DVD was equally
    suspenseful and shocking."

YESTERDAY (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 75/100):
"If people were to be cloned, how deep would the connection be? Do we
have some kind of soul that our clones would not have? Would our clones
be exactly like us, or would that depend on the circumstances under
which they grew up? Unfortunately, the script doesn't handle these
    questions very well."
