Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ALONG CAME POLLY, DEAD RINGER,
FLYING LEATHERNECKS, GOOD TIMES: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON, MY VOYAGE TO
ITALY, POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN CLASSIC CARTOONS: 75TH ANNIVERSARY
COLLECTOR'S EDITION, REALITY BITES: 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, SHOWGIRLS:
V.I.P. EDITION, STAR TREK: VOYAGER, SEASON THREE, and THE STORYTELLER:
    GREEK MYTHS:

ALONG CAME POLLY (reviewed by David Ryan, overall score 75/100):
"Along Came Polly is like public art. It's just...there, and while it
doesn't actively stink by any analysis, it also isn't particularly
memorable or noteworthy. In much the same way that few ever walk in
downtown New York or Los Angeles and say, 'Gee, I'm horribly offended by
that 16-foot-tall metal cube,' no one is ever going to demand their
money back after watching this film. It's just there."

DEAD RINGER (reviewed by George Hatch, overall score 95/100):
"Edie hasn't just stolen another life; she's stepped into an entirely
different world. The suspense -- and fun! -- lies in how she confronts
the people Maggie knew intimately, and deals with dicey and
    unpredictable situations."

FLYING LEATHERNECKS (reviewed by Mark Van Hook, overall score 75/100):
"Flying Leathernecks was the seventh film directed by Nicholas Ray, the
director known best for bringing young James Dean to the screen in Rebel
Without A Cause four years later. He had already directed one
masterpiece by this point (In a Lonely Place was made just a year
earlier); he obviously knew his way around a camera, which is why the
overall ordinariness of Leathernecks is disappointing."

GOOD TIMES: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (reviewed by Dennis Prince,
    overall score 67/100):
"Although the show sought to raise eyebrows and elicit a similar level
of controversy as did the caustic All in the Family, there simply wasn't
enough character opposition to fuel the fire; the show seemingly hoped
'social strife' could prove to be enough of an antagonist."

MY VOYAGE TO ITALY (reviewed by Dan Mancini, overall score 89/100):
"The only voyage in Martin Scorsese's four-hour paean to Italian cinema
is that of the filmmaker's heart and soul. The documentary's title
alludes to director Roberto Rossellini's 1953 film Voyage to Italy
(Viaggio in Italia), and proves remarkably apropos both because
Rossellini is the filmmaker over whom Scorsese most fawns, and the
documentary is less a survey of Italian cinema than a ruminative
expression of Scorsese's personal experience of it."

POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN CLASSIC CARTOONS: 75TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTOR'S
EDITION (reviewed by Neil Dorsett, overall score 80/100):
"The Fleischer cartoons presented in this compilation are of
unassailable archive value and have entertained children for
generations. There is no ill to speak of them, even as they approach
octogenarian stages. Max Fleischer was an animation genius. The Famous
Studios era Popeye is far less valuable, making this a mixed bag, but it
    is jam-packed at twenty dollars."

REALITY BITES: 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION (reviewed by Patrick Naugle,
    overall score 68/100):
"Reality Bites, Stiller's feature film directorial debut, tells us to
care about its characters. But how can we do that when they're all
whiney, self-centered nebbishes who can't hold down a job and talk to
    each other in poetic riddles?"

SHOWGIRLS: V.I.P. EDITION (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
    score 87/100):
"There is a strange phenomenon that happens when one watches Showgirls:
you see past all the tantalizing flesh, lip gloss, and jiggle and
finally stare directly into the heart of cinematic darkness. This movie
defies description. The cast, the story, the dialogue -- this is what
    bad movies are all about."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/showgirlsvipedition.php

STAR TREK: VOYAGER, SEASON THREE (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall
    score 80/100):
"One key problem with Voyager ripples its way throughout each episode,
leaving the viewer with a vague feeling of dissatisfaction. Voyager
doesn't know where it's going; our intrepid crew is lost in the Delta
    quadrant without a map."

THE STORYTELLER: GREEK MYTHS (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
    score 90/100):
"Viewers young and old should enjoy Greek Myths. Even though this
series overall didn't seem quite as strong to me as the original,
it's still exceptional TV, and lovers of myth should most certainly
    give it a look."
