Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of DOOGAL, FRIGHTMARE, LAZYTOWN:
SPORTS CANDY FESTIVAL, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE: LIKE, THE BEST SPECIAL EDITION
EVER!, NEW POLICE STORY, THE RINGER, SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH, WHEN A
STRANGER CALLS (2006), and WRITER OF O:

DOOGAL (reviewed by Neal Masri, overall score 50/100):
    "What hath Shrek wrought?"

FRIGHTMARE (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 75/100):
"Though it's bloody enough and loaded with atmosphere and invention,
this unusual U.K. offering still pales in comparison to its American
cousins. There is just something so curt, so stiff upper lipped and
undeniably genial about the English that it's hard to imagine them as
    twisted psychopaths."

LAZYTOWN: SPORTS CANDY FESTIVAL (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 90/100):
"We're back for another round of pastel Icelandic healthy living
puppetry as Stephanie, Sportacus and Robbie Rotten square off to teach
young viewers about the glory of eating roughage."

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE: LIKE, THE BEST SPECIAL EDITION EVER! (reviewed by
    Ryan Keefer, overall score 88/100):
"So break out the tater tots and play someone in a game of tetherball,
while DVD Verdict determines if you should pay even more money for this
    special edition of Napoleon Dynamite!"

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/napoleondynamitese.php

NEW POLICE STORY (reviewed by Jonathan Weiss, overall score 85/100):
"If you can't dazzle them with tricks, awe them with intensity. And
overall, that's exactly what New Police Story does."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/newpolicestory.php

THE RINGER (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 78/100):
"The Ringer needs more of what the presence of Johnny Knoxville
promises: politically incorrect chaos. It's a dastardly idea to rig the
Special Olympics, so why not let the movie go to a logically dark place
instead of this touchy-feely 'up with people' ending?"

SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 90/100):
"Sweet Bird of Youth is not the definitive screen translation of
Tennessee Williams. But it is unmistakably Tennessee Williams, which
automatically gives it symbolic richness and complex characters."

WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006) (reviewed by Kerry Birmingham, overall
    score 68/100):
"When a Stranger Calls delivers exactly what it promises: PG-13 thrills
    of the what's-that-noise-coming-from-that-dark-room variety. The
premise, the only thing anyone remembers about the original 1979 film,
actually comprises that film's first 20 minutes or so. Here it is
stretched to the breaking point at 87 minutes, and it becomes evident
that the concept is ill-suited for a feature film."

WRITER OF O (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 83/100):
"If you haven't read the book, then you'd better be inherently
interested in French literature or social upheaval through erotica. If
that isn't the case, Writer of O will sodomize your interest and wear
your entertainment threshold to a nub through repeated whippings."
