Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BREAKOUT, DARK SHADOWS: DVD
COLLECTION FIFTEEN, DARK SHADOWS: DVD COLLECTION SIXTEEN, HOMELESS TO
HARVARD: THE LIZ MURRAY STORY, MACGYVER: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, SEX
AND THE SINGLE MOM, THE SIMPSONS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON, SOUTH PARK:
THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL: THE COMPLETE FIRST
SEASON, A TOUCH OF FROST: SEASON FOUR, and TOUR OF DUTY: THE COMPLETE
    SECOND SEASON:

BREAKOUT (reviewed by Barrie Maxwell, overall score 40/100):
"The poorly thought-out camera work and jerky editing are so annoying
that they detract greatly from the narrative information being conveyed.
Nor does it help that that information is delivered in a somewhat
monotonic style by Rod Steiger. Worst of all is a cheesy piece of theme
music that keeps replaying so frequently that you feel you're
experiencing some sort of an audio torture."

DARK SHADOWS: DVD COLLECTION FIFTEEN (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
    score 92/100):
"Because the show was filmed in New York it attracted three different
disciplines of actors. You had movie veterans like Grayson Hall (Julia
Hoffman and Magda) and Joan Bennet (Judith Collins Trask in this run)
mixing with television stars like Louis Edmonds and Broadway stage
actors. They all brought unique methods to the show, which produced an
    interesting clash of styles."

DARK SHADOWS: DVD COLLECTION SIXTEEN (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
    score 92/100):
"Gypsies, werewolves, and a creepy wizard who is after a magical hand
    -- it's quite a smorgasbord of supernatural Gothic turn-of-the-
    century fun."

HOMELESS TO HARVARD: THE LIZ MURRAY STORY (reviewed by Maurice Cobbs,
    overall score 90/100):
"Liz's childhood was no picnic. Homeless to Harvard doesn't pull any
punches in that regard, making this one of the grittiest Lifetime movies
(I bet you thought you'd never hear that phrase) I've ever seen. "

MACGYVER: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall
    score 65/100):
"This man not only stops the bad guys, saves the day, and gets the girl
(almost like Kirk with one in every port), but he also helps people with
their personal problems. Who could ask for more in a guy?"

SEX AND THE SINGLE MOM (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score
    75/100):
"Although the first half of this movie contains a great deal of romance
(and sex) between Jess and Alex, it is most assuredly a movie about the
relationship between a mother and a daughter and the strain that is put
on their relationship by the choices each makes in regard to her own
    sexuality."

THE SIMPSONS: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Patrick Bromley,
    overall score 98/100):
"Season Five really lets it rip. This is the season where Homer totally
    ceases to act in any way that even remotely resembles anything human;
where his humor extends beyond the occasional choking of Bart and into
the finest non sequiturs ever to make their way onto a network series.
This is the season that opens up the scope of storylines to
Springfield's supporting and peripheral characters. This is the season
that (for the most part) eschews sentimentality in favor of
fearlessness and the best satire on television. This is The Simpsons at
    its very best."

SOUTH PARK: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 93/100):
"South Park can be seen as a potent work in progress, an ever-evolving
platform for Parker and Stone to test out the tolerances of humor. They
burst through and bust taboos, take on sacred cows as well as the
standard sitcom crap. They apply irony and slander, the sophomoric and
the satirical, all in an effort to continuously shape and shift their
    silliness."

TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Maurice
    Cobbs, overall score 92/100):
"This wasn't fluff; these shows were sometimes hard-edged, generally
compelling, tackling difficult issues with an uncompromising eye, but at
the same time never becoming too sordid or cheap. It's a fine line to
walk, and Touched by an Angel walks that line with grace, class, and not
    a small bit of humor."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/touchedbyangelseason1.php

A TOUCH OF FROST: SEASON FOUR (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
    score 95/100):
"Followers of Frost know that the curmudgeonly inspector's private life
always provides a counterpart to his professional investigations, and in
this season the domestic side of Frost's life is dealt a body blow when
    his house burns down."

TOUR OF DUTY: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Diane Wild,
    overall score 70/100):
"The fate of a newbie in this Bravo Company is as sealed as that of a
red-shirted ensign on Star Trek, but death is not always predictable on
this show that isn't afraid to kill off main characters."
