Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of ANDROID, ANI DIFRANCO: TRUST, THE
COUNTRY GIRL, FANCY PANTS, FANTASM / FANTASM COMES AGAIN, FARMINGVILLE,
HOUR OF THE WOLF, MARK OF THE DEVIL, 1978 COTTON BOWL: NOTRE DAME VS.
TEXAS, ROUNDERS: COLLECTOR'S EDITION, and SPEEDO:

ANDROID (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 77/100):
"This 21st century Pinocchio story is a charming and tragic character-
driven effort. Borrowing from The Bride of Frankenstein and Metropolis,
the film delves deeply into Max's loneliness and desire to interact with
others -- especially a female -- by taking him through a kind of robot
    'adolescence.'"

ANI DIFRANCO: TRUST (reviewed by Elizabeth Skipper, overall score
    92/100):
"Ani has always been better live than in the studio. Maybe it's just
because the stories and jokes she tells make her more accessible, less
of an idol and more of a friend, but I think it's more than that. I
think her passion can only really be captured in front of an audience."

THE COUNTRY GIRL (reviewed by Diane Wild, overall score 85/100):
"Movies from this era often have disturbing undertones -- or overtones
-- of misogyny, and The Country Girl plays like a prime example. 'They
all start out as Juliets and end up as Lady MacBeths,' Dodd says at one
point. But when the relationship between Georgie and Elgin is explored
further, it's obvious that something else is going on."

FANCY PANTS (reviewed by Bill Treadway, overall score 90/100):
"Fancy Pants is not a great film, but it is a wonderful entertainment.
Hope fans will prize his snappy banter and sharp wit. Ball fans will
leap at the opportunity to see their favorite redhead in a very
different role from the one she would become famous for."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/fancypants.php

FANTASM / FANTASM COMES AGAIN (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 79/100):
"Like looking through a crystal Ben Wa ball to see the future of
friggin', and coming up with a few of the more outlandish ideas
possible, Fantasm is like a repeat performance of The Second Sex for the
    raincoat crowd."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/fantasm.php

FARMINGVILLE (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 91/100):
"What starts off simply as a group of citizens concerned about the
living conditions in their town soon turns tragic, into a spiral of
violence, hatred, racism, and segregation. The punchline, of course, and
perhaps the most heartbreaking element of Farmingville, is that both
sides of the issue are clearly at a loss as to how things turned so bad
so quickly...or how to resolve any of it."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/farmingville.php

HOUR OF THE WOLF (reviewed by Erick Harper, overall score 83/100):
"For the most part, though, I'm inclined to say that if, like myself,
you are honestly interested in an initiation to Bergman, there are
probably better places than this to start."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/hourwolf.php

MARK OF THE DEVIL (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 92/100):
"So, is it truly so shocking that it will literally sicken you to the
point of vomiting? Probably not, but that's not to say that this much-talked-
about cult classic doesn't pack something of a punch with its graphic
    scenes of torture."

1978 COTTON BOWL: NOTRE DAME VS. TEXAS (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 75/100):
"College football fans, especially those tied to either participating
program, may have many reasons to own this barebones presentation of the
actual New Years Day broadcast by CBS, technical foul-ups and all."

ROUNDERS: COLLECTOR'S EDITION (reviewed by David Ryan, overall
    score 90/100):
"ESPN's Bill Simmons once referred to Rounders as 'one of the ultimate
guy movies of all time.' He's not far off the mark. Rounders has
everything a guy could want in a movie: poker, shady Russians, male
bonding, not ratting out your buddy, covering for your buddy's gambling
debts, violence, hookers, Sopranos-level swearing, underdogs fighting
The Man, and a really annoying girlfriend."

SPEEDO (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 84/100):
"The story is about a man finding out that wishes do come true, even for
a forty year old mechanic in Long Island. It's funny how we root for him
to make it -- and he perseveres, and does."
