Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BLADE: TRINITY: UNRATED EDITION,
DEAD BIRDS, DIVORCE ITALIAN STYLE: CRITERION COLLECTION, HOUSE OF FLYING
DAGGERS, LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, LOVE'S
ENDURING PROMISE, MARY POPPINS: 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, MORRISSEY: WHO
PUT THE M IN MANCHESTER, SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK: THE COMPLETE
    SEASON, and UNDERTOW:

BLADE: TRINITY: UNRATED EDITION (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
    score 74/100):
"Blade: Trinity is a tepid entry in the series, a colossal step down
from both the original Blade and the far better Blade II. I can
recommend seeing this film only for completists who feel the burning
desire to see how the series ends."

DEAD BIRDS (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 87/100):
"Sadly, Dead Birds sounds a whole bunch better than it actually plays
out. Don't let the undeniably spooky DVD box art fool you: That toothy
spook only appears a few times and not in any sort of pervasive or
    effective manner."

DIVORCE ITALIAN STYLE: CRITERION COLLECTION (reviewed by Dan Mancini,
    overall score 90/100):
"Germi walks a fine line. Even slightly off in tone, the comedy might
have made light of women's precarious position in traditional Sicilian
society. But Divorce Italian Style's tone is so on the money the dark
comedy induces laughter even as it perfectly exposes the ridiculous
sexual double standards that govern the characters' lives."

HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 97/100):
"Because it shares the same director, star, and highly stylized martial
arts sequences, House of Flying Daggers has usually been discussed as a
continuation of the work director Zhang Yimou did in Hero. In reality,
it stands on its own feet, and in some ways surpasses its predecessor
with a moving personal story and more intrigue than you could shake a
    bamboo pole at. "

LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (reviewed by Patrick
    Naugle, overall score 80/100):
"Finally! A black comedy for children! In what may be a first, director
Brad Silberling (Moonlight Mile) has crafted Bad Santa for the 13-and-
    under crowd."

LOVE'S ENDURING PROMISE (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score
    90/100):
"While it might seem this could be just another drippy and hackneyed heart-of-the-
West melodrama, this made-for-TV movie is actually quite engaging,
mostly because of its wholesome approach."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/lovesenduringpromise.php

MARY POPPINS: 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION (reviewed by Michael Stailey,
    overall score 98/100):
"Nothing we haven't seen before in a multitude of formats and settings.
But infused in every scene of Mary Poppins is that inimitable Disney
magic. From the casting and music, to the cinematography and art
direction, Walt managed to inspire every member of his team to excel
above and beyond the standard expectations of their roles."

MORRISSEY: WHO PUT THE M IN MANCHESTER (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall
    score 90/100):
"Captured for release as a live album and a DVD, Morrissey: Who Put the
'M' in Manchester is a stellar record of the mature Moz, fully
functional in his mythos, and damn glad to be performing for packed
    houses again."

SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK: THE COMPLETE SEASON (reviewed by Eric
    Profancik, overall score 88/100):
"Mr. All-American was hypnotized by Tina's big fake breasts, gave into
his creepy mommy-complex, and became the biggest fool in Survivor
history. He was duped, and he didn't even realize it, making it all the
sadder when he enthusiastically jumped up and applauded when Tina
received the final, winning vote. What a schmuck!"

UNDERTOW (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 90/100):
"Green has created a tangible gothic feeling with this movie. From the
fantastically surreal opening sequence to the finale, our characters --
quirky themselves -- travel from interesting place to interesting place.
Whether it's an abandoned junkyard, the homestead of a strange couple, a
society of dregs, even the Dunn property itself, each locale adds a new
bit of depth to the story and tactility to the atmosphere."
