Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CHRIS ROCK: NEVER SCARED, CSI:
MIAMI: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, DOGVILLE, KILL BILL: VOLUME 2, THE
PASSION OF THE JEW, SLEDGE HAMMER!, and STARSKY AND HUTCH: THE COMPLETE
    SECOND SEASON:

CHRIS ROCK: NEVER SCARED (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 91/100):
"Rock, in my opinion, has always excelled at taking serious issues,
talking about them in intelligent and funny ways, and still providing
the viewer with a good time. This go-round, the issues are as serious as
ever, but what the jokes lack in hilarity they make up for in cynicism.
Look, the bottom line is I just wasn't laughing a lot."

CSI: MIAMI: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
    score 86/100):
"The best episode in this first season has to be the season finale. It
had me gnashing my teeth and on the edge of the futon for a solid hour.
Not every episode has this effect, but it gave me hope that after this
first season they may have figured out how to make this a 'blow your
    mind' show."

DOGVILLE (reviewed by Diane Wild, overall score 75/100):
"Cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle is unhampered by the lack of set
design, creating innovative shots including a gorgeous one of Grace as
seen through gauzy canvas, lying in the back of a truck among cartons of
apples. The striking and earthy image is used on the DVD menu screen and
is truly one of the most beautiful shots captured on screen."

KILL BILL: VOLUME 2 (reviewed by Mike Jackson, overall score 100/100):
"Tarantino has the patience (or audacity!) to leave The Bride in that
hole, with us wondering how the hell she'll get out...to show us how the
    hell she'll get out."

THE PASSION OF THE JEW (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score
    70/100):
"Normally Matt and Trey have killer instincts and know just what buttons
to push and what to skewer. They have a knack for making light of
serious situations and masterfully putting the spotlight on the
ridiculous. But when it came to that little film by Mel Gibson, I think
the boys missed the mark...by quite a wide shot."

SLEDGE HAMMER! (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score 90/100):
"This show is most definitely a spoof, and in the words of its creator,
it is 'Get Smart meets Dirty Harry.' When in the pilot episode Sledge's
boss calls him 'sadistic, depraved, bloodthirsty, [and] barbaric,' good
old Sledge takes it as a high compliment."

STARSKY AND HUTCH: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Sandra
    Dozier, overall score 90/100):
"Starsky and Hutch were not hero cops who always defeated the bad guys
and were rewarded for their bravery. They made mistakes, they took hits,
they looked the other way in order to get information from Huggy Bear
and others. They were human, in other words, with all the strength and
    vulnerability of humans. "
