Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AFTER SEX, HAPPY HOUR, THE HOBART
SHAKESPEAREANS, HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE, LET IT ROCK: AT THE CROSSROADS OF
ROCK AND ROLL, MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN MOVIE!, MILWAUKEE, MINNESOTA, SADDLES
AND SILKS: A JOCKEY'S STORY, SAKURA WARS TV: COMPLETE COLLECTION,
SHIVERS, TROLLZ: BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE THE MOVIE, and TROLLZ: MAGIC OF
    THE FIVE THE MOVIE:

AFTER SEX (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 86/100):
"The movie was controversial because the sex scenes were so energetic,
and many people were offended by the idea of a forty-year-old actress
graphically enjoying an on-screen sexual act with a twenty-year-old
man. This was long before Demi and Ashton, so it felt very
revolutionary at the time. But honestly, if you're hoping for some
intense sex, you'd be better off with porn or a Paul Verhoeven (Basic
    Instinct, Showgirls) movie."

HAPPY HOUR (reviewed by Chris Claro, overall score 85/100):
"Charm and good acting only carry a movie so far, and can't rescue it
    from a hackneyed script."

THE HOBART SHAKESPEAREANS (reviewed by Jonathan Weiss, overall
    score 77/100):
    "It's a straightforward hand-held or locked-off camera experience.
Nothing fancy. If, however, you're looking for subject matter that will
both uplift and depress you at the same time -- look no further."

HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall score
    91/100):
"While the animation is excellent, what makes this movie special is the
evolution of and interplay between the characters."

LET IT ROCK: AT THE CROSSROADS OF ROCK AND ROLL (reviewed by Paul
    Corupe, overall score 88/100):
"While the performances in this concert don't quite live up to the fiery
rock and roll antics that paved the way in the 1950s and '60s, they are
still surprisingly energetic, especially considering the advanced age of
    many of the musicians."

MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN MOVIE! (reviewed by Patrick Bromley, overall
    score 90/100):
"Kaufman doesn't shy away from a number of the negative aspects of
making low-budget indie movies, as he understands that learning from the
mistakes of others sometime makes for the best lesson."

MILWAUKEE, MINNESOTA (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 80/100):
"It is a crime story about ordinary people who try to do extraordinarily
bad things in the hope of pulling themselves up from the mundane life in
a very dreary part of the world."

SADDLES AND SILKS: A JOCKEY'S STORY (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 80/100):
"My overall feeling coming away from this is that the life of a jockey
is hard and not necessarily lucrative, but when the odds are beaten and
he or she ends up in the Winner's Circle astride a Thoroughbred, the
diligence pays off. So, if you're a jockey, or are thinking about
becoming a jockey, I tip my hat to you and wish you luck. Apparently,
    you'll need it."

SAKURA WARS TV: COMPLETE COLLECTION (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall
    score 91/100):
"Sakura Wars as a franchise draws heavily from the infamous Takarazuka
Revue, an all-women Japanese theater troupe formed in the 1910s who
continue to operate to great success to this day and have inspired
millions of fans across Japan...mostly women."

SHIVERS (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 84/100):
"Even though much of the film plays out like a more sexualized
reimagining of Night of the Living Dead, there are moments when you can
see the very start of what would make Cronenberg a visionary with his
    own signature stamp."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/shivers.php

TROLLZ: BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE THE MOVIE (reviewed by Paul Corupe,
    overall score 80/100):
"This new DVD series is just one part of a Trollz saturation
campaign, an onslaught that includes a website, books, and toys,
which DiC hopes will turn the franchise into the next pop culture
fad. Unfortunately, to these jaded eyes, their plan is almost so
slick and calculated to succeed that the show lacks the heart and
originality of some of its peers."

TROLLZ: MAGIC OF THE FIVE THE MOVIE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
    score 81/100):
"These plots gently expand the storyline established in the first go-
around, and you can see the writers planting the seeds for future
conflicts and adventures for the five magical gnomes, making this the
better of the two available DVDs."
