Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of DEMON LORD DANTE: DANTE RAGES
(VOLUME 2), GAD GUARD: LIGHTNING (VOLUME 1), GET BACKERS: G&B ON THE
CASE (VOLUME 1), GUNGRAVE: BEYOND THE GRAVE (VOLUME 1), .HACK//LEGEND OF
THE TWILIGHT: ENTER THE NIGHTMARE! (VOLUME 2), MEGAZONE 23: PART TWO,
    and MEGAZONE 23: PART THREE:

DEMON LORD DANTE: DANTE RAGES (VOLUME 2) (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway,
    overall score 55/100):
"Geez, who thought it was a good idea to wake up this guy? There's
either too much mumbo or too much jumbo in this story. The religious
themes bandied about come across like something dreamed up by Anton
LaVey's kindergarten class. It essentially boils down to this: forces of
God bad; forces of Satan not so bad."

GAD GUARD: LIGHTNING (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
    score 65/100):
"Yes, it's another boy and his giant robot story. Let me clarify that.
It's another ho-hum boy and his giant robot story. Considering how many
of these are churned out every year, it's to be expected that not all of
them will be classics, but would it kill people to try a little harder?
We've seen this before and we'll probably see it again, but there isn't
a single noteworthy element to this story."

GET BACKERS: G&B ON THE CASE (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell
    Hattaway, overall score 70/100):
"Ban is a Jagan, a person momentarily able to cloud the minds of others
with terrifying visions; Ginji, much like an eel, can generate
concentrated amounts of electrical energy. It was at this point that my
mind began to wander. I started thinking of better ways for people with
    such talents to earn money."

GUNGRAVE: BEYOND THE GRAVE (VOLUME 1) (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway,
    overall score 85/100):
"Gungrave seems to draw much of its inspiration from the works of Sergio
Leone, with a little bit of Sergio Corbucci's Django (love that coffin!)
thrown in for good measure. Much of the storytelling resembles the
laconic, operatic nature of Leone's westerns, while the plot of these
early episodes brings to mind Once Upon a Time in America."

..HACK//LEGEND OF THE TWILIGHT: ENTER THE NIGHTMARE! (VOLUME 2) (reviewed
by David Ryan, overall score 82/100):
"The World is a vampire -- and despite all his rage, Shugo is still just
a cyber-rat in a virtual reality cage. Or something like that."

MEGAZONE 23: PART TWO (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
    score 80/100):
"I'll admit I was lost at times during my viewing of Part 2, as I was at
certain points during Part 1. Much like the original episode, the story
here has been telescoped from a much longer, more complex plot. (This
volume also assumes you're familiar with the plot of Part 1, so I don't
recommend going into this with no knowledge of the previous events.)"

MEGAZONE 23: PART THREE (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
    score 60/100):
"Centering Eiji's fate around his abilities at a video game named Hard
ON doesn't help matters either; yes, I laughed whenever the name was
mentioned, which I guess says quite a bit about me, but so be it."
