Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE CHEETAH GIRLS, COUNTESS
DRACULA'S ORGY OF BLOOD, DRAGON TALES: BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, HEART
CONDITION, HIGHLANDER 2: SPECIAL EDITION, IGBY GOES DOWN, TARZAN THE
FEARLESS / TARZAN'S REVENGE, THE THIRD SOCIETY, THOMAS AND THE MAGIC
    RAILROAD, and TRUCK TURNER:

THE CHEETAH GIRLS (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 42/100):
"The Cheetah Girls desperately wants to say something, but it never
really says anything. Unless you count 'Yo, we're all mixed up in this
    jiggy jungle together.'"

COUNTESS DRACULA'S ORGY OF BLOOD (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
    score 70/100):
"If you're thinking of snagging a copy of Countess Dracula's Orgy of
Blood, I'd hazard it's not the high-powered narrative or witty repartee
that grabs you. This flick is a sequence of girl-on-girl scenes, with
various permutations of six different women pawing at each other. That's
it, all 87 minutes of it. Take it or leave it."

DRAGON TALES: BELIEVE IN YOURSELF (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall
    score 55/100):
"It's nice to see a children's DVD that will appeal to both boys and
girls; children will easily relate to the central characters, the
element of fantasy, and the fact that because Max and Emmy's parents are
practically invisible, it is up to the two protagonists to solve
    problems themselves."

HEART CONDITION (reviewed by Bill Treadway, overall score 71/100):
"Perhaps Heart Condition read better on the printed page, if only in
explaining the presence of both Bob Hoskins and Denzel Washington. Both
men were coming off of huge critical and commercial successes: Who
Framed Roger Rabbit? and Glory. It's hard to believe that these two
intelligent actors would choose a weak vehicle such as Heart Condition
    as a follow-up."

HIGHLANDER 2: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by David Ryan, overall
    score 69/100):
"Lions Gate, the producers, Mulcahy, and the original visual effects
artists have taken the rehabilitation of the film as far as it probably
can go with the release of this set. The result is, as the producers
say, the best version of this film that they can make with the material
they have on hand. It's still not a particularly good film -- but it's
infinitely superior to the original version."

IGBY GOES DOWN (reviewed by Bryan Byun, overall score 30/100):
"Igby is very much designed to appeal to a certain elitist mindset.
Neophyte writer-director Burr Steers devotes the entirety of his film to
pandering to the kind of self-impressed, pseudointellectual hipsters who
will no doubt connect with the sullen title character, who spouts a
steady stream of arch, unbearably 'witty' observations. This film is
little more than a two-hour sneer."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/igbygoesdown.php

TARZAN THE FEARLESS / TARZAN'S REVENGE (reviewed by Dan Mancini, overall
    score 58/100):
"These lackluster films may be curios for the fervent Tarzan fan, but
they're bound to prove an endurance test for anyone else."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/tarzanfearless.php

THE THIRD SOCIETY (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall score 5/100):
"Jones is not a lean, mean fighting machine. We may be forced to watch
her run around the jungle and work out, but we also have to watch the
rolls of fat jiggle around the spandex. Jones is a husky woman with the
    grace of a water buffalo."

THOMAS AND THE MAGIC RAILROAD (reviewed by David Packard, overall
    score 30/100):
"How do the filmmakers expect the movie's target audience of Thomas-
loving toddlers with their short attention spans to sit still for 84
minutes, when the adults are clawing at their own eyes for relief?"

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/thomasandmagicrailroad.php

TRUCK TURNER (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 61/100):
"Far from a bad mutha, Truck Turner lacks the grittiness of more notable
genre efforts like Superfly and Coffy. It feels more like a typical
1970s drive-in cheapie than a bona fide blaxploitation film."
