Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of 21 JUMP STREET: THE COMPLETE SECOND
SEASON, CARE BEARS: FESTIVAL OF FUN / MAGICAL ADVENTURES, DARK SHADOWS:
DVD COLLECTION THREE, DEADWOOD: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, DOOGIE
HOWSER, M.D.: SEASON ONE, FAMILY BUSINESS: THE COMPLETE FIRST AND SECOND
SEASONS, KOJAK: SEASON ONE, and SEALAB 2021: SEASON TWO:

21 JUMP STREET: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by David Johnson,
    overall score 70/100):
"This series, in its second-season iteration, has proven to be
profoundly dated. And I'm not talking about the hairstyles (this show
boasts more mullets than a monster truck rally) or the accessorizing
(Officer Hoffs was a walking mall kiosk). No, it's the issues that
place 21 Jump Street: The Complete Second Season deep inside an '80s
    time capsule."

CARE BEARS: FESTIVAL OF FUN / MAGICAL ADVENTURES (reviewed by David
    Johnson, overall score 70/100):
"Will kids like them? If they're small enough, I guess. Then again, kids
small enough to glean some entertainment from this hokey cartoon will
probably be just as amused by staring at a crock-pot."

DARK SHADOWS: DVD COLLECTION THREE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
    score 92/100):
"Dark Shadows still works like gangbusters, even today when we are used
to ongoing serial stories about vampires and people trying to help them.
Barnabas Collins pre-dated Anne Rice's vampire novels by a few years,
and one wonders if she wasn't influenced by the love between Dr. Hoffman
and Barnabas that always kept the show afloat."

DEADWOOD: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
    score 96/100):
"Milch has done nothing short of reinventing the Western, reinventing it
so thoroughly that it subverts the traditionally conservative genre. (He
owes a debt of gratitude to Tombstone, but he takes his own concept far
enough to distinguish it from that film.) In one fell swoop, traditional
    Westerns are rendered disingenuous."

DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Mac McEntire, overall
    score 84/100):
"Unlike most half-hour comedies, the humor here isn't just a collection
of one-liners. It has more of an absurdist quality, which is what you'd
expect when you're watching a squeaky-voiced teen making rounds at a
hospital, spouting off rapid-fire medical jargon to adults twice his
height. There aren't many laugh-out-loud moments, but expect plenty of
    amusing 'what if' situations."

FAMILY BUSINESS: THE COMPLETE FIRST AND SECOND SEASONS (reviewed by Bill
    Gibron, overall score 92/100):
"Using a totally distinctive idea (looking behind the scenes of the porn
industry) and tying it to the close knit, idiosyncratic Glasser family,
Showtime has stumbled upon one of the greatest real life lessons in not
judging a book by its cover ever committed to videotape."

KOJAK: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 92/100):
"Vin Diesel eat your heart out, because Telly Savalas made bald tough
guys all the rage when you were only seven years old. Kojak -- Season
One is a great collection of episodes that does the series proud. It's
pure Telly, and full out '70s television noir."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kojakseason1.php

SEALAB 2021: SEASON TWO (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall score 90/100):
"Although many fans consider the first season the pinnacle of the show,
the second season is often just as hilarious and off-putting, and it's
to the writers' credit that they can keep coming up with increasingly
insane new situations and gags to prove that Sealab 2021 is far more
    than just a one-joke concept."
