Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES'
SMARTER BROTHER, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION,
THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (SPECIAL TWO-DISC COLLECTOR'S EDITION), THE
EMILIO MIRAGLIA KILLER QUEEN BOX SET, THE FIGHTING SULLIVANS:
COMMEMORATIVE EDITION, KING KONG (2005): TWO-DISC SPECIAL EDITION,
TOWNES VAN ZANDT: BE HERE TO LOVE ME, and WOLF CREEK:

THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES' SMARTER BROTHER (reviewed by Jonathan
    Weiss, overall score 85/100):
"There's a sense of fearlessness afoot. The humour is less obvious and
more surreal. Scenes shift from the uncomfortable, to the erotic, to the
    utter macabre."

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (reviewed by a panel, overall score 96/100):
"Brokeback Mountain is a quiet, intimate film that unfurls at a languid
pace as it examines characters who can barely speak. The story aches
with longing, and could easily switch a gender here and there without
much problem to make it an old fashioned Hollywood tear-jerker along the
lines of The Way We Were or From Here to Eternity."

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE
(SPECIAL TWO-DISC COLLECTOR'S EDITION) (reviewed by David Johnson,
    overall score 93/100):
"Here's my lowdown: as a children's film, the genre I believe this film
most belongs to, LW&W is excellent. As a general movie that adults
can enjoy too, I'd say it is very good. I'm thinking A+ if judged by the
former, and a B+ for the latter. That shakes out to about an A- average,
    which I think is accurate."

THE EMILIO MIRAGLIA KILLER QUEEN BOX SET (reviewed by Paul Corupe,
    overall score 78/100):
"Though the well-worn plot of a mentally unstable character being pushed
to the edge by the sudden appearance of a ghost has been a horror
mainstay for decades now, it more or less works here thanks to some
unexpected twists and a doozy of a final reel that sets new standards
    for outlandish giallo scripting."

THE FIGHTING SULLIVANS: COMMEMORATIVE EDITION (reviewed by Steve Evans,
    overall score 83/100):
"The Fighting Sullivans is wholesome as apple pie and manipulative as
anything Frank Capra ever directed. You'll cry anyway."

KING KONG (2005): TWO-DISC SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by James A.
    Stewart, overall score 93/100):
"While the movie is slower than you'd expect, it brings the rich
tapestry of 1933 New York to life, making you feel like you're a part of
a city that's no longer and may never have been. The New York scenes
bring with them a wistful quality that emphasizes the love triangle
    aspect of King Kong."

TOWNES VAN ZANDT: BE HERE TO LOVE ME (reviewed by Brendan Babish,
    overall score 81/100):
"In Be Here to Love Me, director Margaret Brown devotes as much time to
Van Zandt's demons as his musical output. This only seems to be
appropriate because, unlike political folk singers like Bob Dylan or
Woody Guthrie, Van Zandt's songs are personal and forlorn."

WOLF CREEK (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 88/100):
"Those who are a bit new to the genre will likely shudder to Wolf Creek.
To the veterans of viciousness among us, this is just another horror
tale to behold, better than most but not eye-poppingly atrocious -- not
    in this reviewer's experience, anyway."
