Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AI YORI AOSHI ENISHI: BOND (VOLUME
2), BIG FISH, BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL, HEIR TO AN EXECUTION: A
GRANDDAUGHTER'S STORY, HITLER AND THE NAZIS, MONSTER MAN, PURSUIT,
REGGAE ON THE RIVER, SINCE YOU WENT AWAY, THE TUNE, and ZERO FOCUS:

AI YORI AOSHI ENISHI: BOND (VOLUME 2) (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
    overall score 80/100):
"Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi: Bond (Volume 2) is still a comparatively mature
and capably handled take on the harem subgenre. Events are mostly free
of contrivance, the girls are distinct and their crushes genuine, and
Kaoru is a normal guy. In contrast with most harem anime, Ai Yori Aoshi
Enishi isn't grating, hyperactive, or bland."

BIG FISH (reviewed by Mike Jackson, overall score 92/100):
"This is the least Burtonesque film he's ever made and the most -- dare
I say it? -- mainstream. But is that a bad thing? No, not really."

BROADWAY: THE AMERICAN MUSICAL (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
    score 88/100):
"Broadway has survived the Great Depression, 9/11, and many storms. It
will always be a symbol of the American dream, where a chorus girl can
kick and claw her way to fame and fortune. Broadway -- The American
Musical paints a portrait of an art that is as large and iconic as
    America itself."

HEIR TO AN EXECUTION: A GRANDDAUGHTER'S STORY (reviewed by Maurice
    Cobbs, overall score 90/100):
"This is not an objective look at the Rosenberg case -- it couldn't be,
not in the hands of the filmmaker. Rather than spending time attempting
to prove the innocence of her grandparents, though, Ivy Meeropol instead
paints a portrait of the real victims of the Rosenberg treason trial:
    the heirs to the execution."

HITLER AND THE NAZIS (reviewed by David Ryan, overall score 86/100):
"How and why did a civilized and proud nation, a bastion of culture,
religion, and science for decades, suddenly place its fate in the hands
of a racist, megalomaniacal dictator bent on world domination? There are
no easy answers to this question -- hence, the existence of The History
Channel. One thing is for certain, though: there is no shortage of
documentary filmmakers willing to tackle the question."

MONSTER MAN (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 92/100):
"Sure, you'll be scratching your head a couple of times as the line
between comedy and horror is drawn, erased, redrawn, and so forth.
Nonetheless, give it a look; and perhaps after a couple of viewings, it
may become one of those new cult favorites that you'll want to pass
    along to others."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/monsterman.php

PURSUIT (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 80/100):
"Those doggone '70s political extremist groups. Well, good thing we
don't have to deal with any radicals these days, huh?"

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/pursuit.php

REGGAE ON THE RIVER (reviewed by David Ryan, overall score 97/100):
"Reggae is a very bass-driven style of music; it's usually instantly
identifiable from the staccato guitar riffs that punctuate the rhythmic
and repetitive melodic bass lines. It's also one of the most
relentlessly upbeat forms of popular music currently performed -- and
I'm even including Christian rock in that assessment."

SINCE YOU WENT AWAY (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall score 91/100):
"The women (and men) left behind have quite a task before them: Not
only must they summon up the courage to face an uncertain future --
and constant anxiety about the safety of their loved ones in action --
but they must maintain the home as the sanctuary for returning
veterans, not only to welcome them back (they hope) into the comfort
of familiar surroundings, but to reassure them that their fight has
    not been in vain."

THE TUNE (reviewed by Neal Solon, overall score 83/100):
"Plympton's humor is so 'out there,' as are many of the visuals that he
uses to convey this humor, that if you are not in the mood for a mind
trip, you are not in the mood for this film."

ZERO FOCUS (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 84/100):
"If you're a fan of Hitchcockian suspense, film noir, or classic
Japanese cinema, there's something here for you. Toss in excellent
cinematography, compelling acting, and taut pacing, and you have
yourself an intriguing hour of film. Just try to overlook that the film
    lasts 95 minutes."
