Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE ADVENTURES OF THE GALAXY
RANGERS: TORTUNA, BARBIE AS THE PRINCESS AND THE PAUPER, BATMAN: THE
ANIMATED SERIES (VOLUME 2), FIGHTING SPIRIT: DEBUT MATCH (VOLUME 2),
FIGHTING SPIRIT: TEST OF ENDURANCE (VOLUME 3), and GHOST IN THE SHELL:
    SPECIAL EDITION:

THE ADVENTURES OF THE GALAXY RANGERS: TORTUNA (reviewed by Maurice
    Cobbs, overall score 87/100):
"Galaxy Rangers was certainly an anomaly in the mid-eighties, the height
of the era of toy-based animated series; while many other shows, such as
the similarly themed Bravestarr or He-Man and the Masters of the
Universe, existed primarily as half-hour advertisements for their
respective toy lines, Galaxy Rangers took the novel approach of
presenting well-developed stories by established science-fiction writers
such as James Luceno (of the Robotech novelizations and the New Jedi
Order series) and his frequent collaborator Brian Daley (writer of the
    Han Solo Trilogy of adventures)."

BARBIE AS THE PRINCESS AND THE PAUPER (reviewed by Steve Evans, overall
    score 83/100):
"Now what kind of hard-hearted judge would condemn a Barbie movie as a
mere marketing ploy to sell dolls and accessories? Despite being a
hopelessly unrealistic role model for young girls, Barbie's animated
films continue to offer wholesome entertainment and gentle innocence
suitable for children and their parents. "

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES (VOLUME 2) (reviewed by Sandra Dozier,
    overall score 92/100):
"The writing is sophisticated, but simple; witty, but fun. You get a
sense that the writers, particularly head writer Paul Dini, grew up
with the comics and know what they are doing with the characters in
that universe. This is a series that adults can unashamedly feel
    passionate about."

FIGHTING SPIRIT: DEBUT MATCH (VOLUME 2) (reviewed by Rob Lineberger,
    overall score 85/100):
"Fighting Spirit delivers an experience you could only get in anime. For
example, an opponent who utilizes the flicker jab is represented by
elastic arms that flail about like whips. Energy release is represented
by white streaks. These effects may sound corny, but in reality they
give us a clear idea of what boxers experience in the ring."

FIGHTING SPIRIT: TEST OF ENDURANCE (VOLUME 3) (reviewed by Rob
    Lineberger, overall score 84/100):
"It has been a long time since a show has thoroughly circumvented reason
and pulled me in so completely. I'm surprised that Fighting Spirit was
    the show to do it."

GHOST IN THE SHELL: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall
    score 94/100):
"So, is this version of Ghost in the Shell a worthy upgrade? I think I
am going to answer with a tentative yes."
