Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AFTER THE SUNSET, THE BOY WHO
WANTED TO BE A BEAR: COLLECTOR'S EDITION, FEAR X, THE GIRL WHO SHAGGED
ME: UNRATED "SUPER SEXY" EDITION, THE GOLDEN APPLE: BELLYDANCE
STARS OF NEW YORK, KATHY KAEHLER BASICS: TOTAL FITNESS WORKOUT, KATHY
KAEHLER BASICS: WORKOUT CLASS, and THE MAGNIFICENT SCENERY OF IRELAND:

AFTER THE SUNSET (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 70/100):
"My experience with After the Sunset falls somewhere between 'Pulled
Hamstring' and 'Prolonged Chest Cold' on the entertainment meter. I'm
all for fun popcorn-movie escapism, but this film ain't it."

THE BOY WHO WANTED TO BE A BEAR: COLLECTOR'S EDITION (reviewed by Joel
    Pearce, overall score 74/100):
"A watercolor painting come to life, The Boy Who Wanted to be a Bear is
a strange mixture of aboriginal folk legend and cutesy family film. It
doesn't always work, but it does always look nice."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/boybear.php

FEAR X (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 65/100):
"I don't have a problem with artists being influenced by or paying
homage to the work of others, but what Refn does here amounts to little
more than theft. In all honesty, it looks to me as if Refn watched a
Lynch film festival, followed it up with The Shining, went to bed, and
started work on Fear X when he woke up the next morning."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/fearx.php

THE GIRL WHO SHAGGED ME: UNRATED "SUPER SEXY" EDITION
(reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 40/100):
"The Girl Who Shagged Me exists for no other reason than to show women
(at least one or two of them are actually rather attractive) in various
states of undress getting it on. As such, I guess it does its job rather
well. Problem is, all of those girl-girl (as well as the two boy-girl)
scenes get old real fast, and the fact that it's the same women over and
over again only makes matters worse."

THE GOLDEN APPLE: BELLYDANCE STARS OF NEW YORK (reviewed by David
    Johnson, overall score 80/100):
"What exactly is belly dancing? Well, in layman's terms it's that sexy
gyration that scantily clad Arabian women do for their sultans in desert
movies. Oh, and that blue girl from Jabba's palace may have employed
some belly dancing before becoming grade-A Rancor chow."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/goldenapplebelly.php

KATHY KAEHLER BASICS: TOTAL FITNESS WORKOUT (reviewed by Amanda DeWees,
    overall score 85/100):
"The segments all move along quite briskly to fit in a maximum of
benefits in the short time allotted. This efficient, streamlined
approach does mean that the viewer will need to assemble all the
necessary equipment beforehand in order to keep up with the routine."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kaehlerbasics.php

KATHY KAEHLER BASICS: WORKOUT CLASS (reviewed by Amanda DeWees, overall
    score 92/100):
"Kathy uses lots of vigorous arm movements to get your heart pumping,
and she stays with each move long enough that you can really focus on
form and on getting the most out of the movement. Consequently, home
exercisers who are intimidated by complex, dancy choreography should
find this workout refreshingly easy to follow while still being
    effective and even challenging."

    FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kaehlerclass.php

THE MAGNIFICENT SCENERY OF IRELAND (reviewed by Eric Profancik, overall
    score 50/100):
"It all looks the same: rolling and green -- except for the rocks, which
    weren't green; they were more often than not wet, but not green;
sometimes they had funny shapes, but they still weren't green."

Using the term, "popcorn movie" or "guilty pleasure"
destroys all credibility as a reviewer.

The two terms are used as "outs" so they reviewer
can preserve the illusion that they still have an
intellect and "shouldn't" be entertained by what
    they've seen. It's disingenuous.
